Terms and Conditions
These terms and conditions apply to goods and services supplied to you – including your use of www.tanscookingclub.co.uk (“our Website”) – by us,Tan’s Cooking Club – Atelier Cuisine (“us”, “we”, “our”), company number 80903796300026/28, who operate Tan’s Cooking Club – Atelier Cuisine including all our services as an atelier cuisine, private chef, events, vacations rentals, and anything associated with food, purchasing, providing, transportation, cooking and preparation of food services when making a booking with Tan’s Cooking Club.
You should read, and ensure persons that you book into a cooking session or one of our service are aware of and read, these Terms & Conditions carefully before requesting our goods and services (e.g. booking a cooking session or service, or buying a voucher, gift card, e-book) as they set out your rights and the conditions on which we make those goods and services available to you. By requesting or using our goods and services, or otherwise indicating your consent, you agree to enter into a contract with us and be bound by these Terms & Conditions. Please carefully check the details of any order and correct any errors before you place it.
You should also read, and ensure persons that you book into a cooking session are aware of and read, our Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy located on our website www.tanscookingclub.co.uk (to find out what kind of information we collect about you, how we use and safeguard such information and your rights and choices in relation to this), Terms for Competitions (if you are entering into a competition/prize promotion – these will also be available on our promotional posts about that competition/prize promotion), our Terms for Contributions if you are submitting content to us (e.g. as part of a competition/prize promotion), and any other terms that we notify you apply at the time such as terms and conditions applicable to offers and promotions. We reserve the right to cancel offers or promotions at any time and they are always subject to availability. By booking a cooking session or one of our services with Tan’s Cooking Club, you agree that:
- You have permission to act on another person’s behalf when you provide their personal information to us, and register them for a cooking session or one of our services, and that you and any other persons registered for the cooking session have read and understood our Privacy Policy.
- You should wear practical clothing, including flat shoes that cover your toes, a minimal amount of jewellery, hair tied back or a cap where necessary and an apron.
- It is your responsibility that you will not attend if you have been unwell within the 48 hours before your session or one of our services. This is to protect all of our customers and staff as illnesses can be spread through food and close contact. Please note that our cancellation and rescheduling policy (below) will still apply if you are unwell as per those terms and conditions below, therefore, we suggest that you send someone in your place (as explained in paragraph 16 below).
- It is your responsibility that you will not attend if you have tested positive for Covid-19 within 7 days before your session or one of our services.
- You may be refused admission or asked to leave a class or one of our services if we suspect that you are under the influence of alcohol or an illicit substance, are unwell or are engaging in inappropriate behaviour. No refunds or rescheduling will be offered in those circumstances.
- It is your responsibility that you will follow all our hygiene and safety instructions and procedures. You acknowledge, however, that whilst we will suggest health and safety measures, it is impossible for us to safeguard your health and safety at all times both during an in person or online session or one of our services. You understand and agree that you are ultimately responsible for your own health and safety and that there is an element of risk inherent in participating in a cooking session or one of our services.
- You alone are responsible to ensure any ingredients you purchase before an online cooking class or one of our services and the ingredients provided by Tan’s Cooking Club are suitable for your own health needs. In terms of any ingredients you purchase before an online cooking class or one of our services, you alone are responsible to ensure it is safely transported, stored and (if applicable) prepared.
- Following your class or one of our services, it is your responsibility that you will follow all our instructions and you alone are responsible for the preparation, transportation, storage, reheating, cooking and consumption of food and meals, in class, during online sessions, before a session, bringing to a session and if you decide to take food away with you after the session or one of our services
- By purchasing a cooking session or one of our services for you or someone else you accept that if taking food home, it is your responsibility that you will bring/provide a suitable container(s)/cool bag(s) and follow transporting, cooling and reheating regulations. You alone are responsible for adhering to these instructions.
- By purchasing a cooking session or one of our services for you or someone else you alone take responsibility for the adherence to the following guidance: Hot food when held must be kept at 63°C or above. You can keep it below 63°C (and above 4°C) for up to two hours. If it has not been used within two hours while below 63°C you should either a) no later than the 2 hour mark and if the food is sufficiently cool, place the food in a fridge of a temperature of 4°C or below (or freezer) or b) throw it away. Reheated food must be steaming hot all the way through – minimum 75°C (or at 70°C for at least 2 minutes). Only reheat once. Cold food must be kept at 4˚C or below. Keep chilled food out of the fridge for the shortest time possible. It is recommended to keep your fridge at a maximum of 4˚C.
- We provide all other equipment (unless stated), ingredients and aprons for our cooking sessions or one of our services if applicable. We purchase the ingredients on your behalf which is billed separately as a ‘frais de debours’ but the total cost you pay is the fixed price of the cooking session you book. By purchasing a cooking session or one of our services if applicable you agree to the frais de debours billing/payment.
- You and your guests may be photographed and/or filmed during your class or one of our services. We may use your name and any photographs and/or recordings featuring you, and may cut, edit and adapt the same as necessary on our website and/or on social media channels associated with Tan’s Cooking Club, or in our marketing and promotions including review sites. If you want further information about how we use your personal data, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
- You will indemnify and hold us and our employees harmless from all claims, damages, liabilities and causes of action which may arise as a result of:
- your preparation, storage, re-heating and consumption of food after your class or one of our services including any transportation of foods to the class prior to the session;
- any loss of personal property whilst on our premises or property used for one of our services e.g. rental property, or premises requested to be used by the client e.g clients’ home, business property/rental arrangements, event property or exterior space. This is not an exhaustive list.
- any injuries or damages you sustain, or that your guest or anyone affiliated with or connected with you, may sustain in connection with or resulting directly or indirectly from your or your guest(s), or affiliated or connected person’s, involvement in our cooking sessions or one of our services.
- Our liability to you shall not exceed the total price charged for any sessions or one of our services you have paid for.
- Nothing in these terms and conditions excludes our liability to you for personal injury or death caused by our negligence or any other losses which cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law (such as relating to the protection of your personal information)
- We do not permit persons aged 14 and under to attend cooking ‘atelier cuisine’ classes at our property. Persons aged 15 -17 years are able to attend an adult class at our property but must be accompanied by a paying adult who are ultimately responsible for that child and to ensure the age of the child adheres to the regulations set out in this policy. For all other cooking sessions or one of our services, any child attending under the age of 18 is the sole responsibility of the client and not in any way the responsibility of Tan’s Cooking Club to ensure the child’s adherence to all regulations in this policy.
- Only paying guests are permitted to be on our premises (or at the discrestion of the client at associated clients’ premises) whilst sessions or one of our serivces are in progress or are permitted to view and/or hear online cooking sessions or one of our services.
- Alcohol is not sold or provided by Tan’s Cooking Club or any of our services and we do not hold a license to do so. If alcohol is provided or consumed by clients during one of our services, at premises other than at our property, it should only be served to those who are a minimum age of 18 . Proof of age should be required for all persons and any alcohol should be offered and consumed responsibly. You should ensure that any persons under 18 attending with you do not consume alcohol. Tan’s Cooking Club is not responsible for any issues arising from the availability or consumption of alcohol during one of our services as mentioned above. At the property of Tan’s Cooking Club, once the cooking session at our property is completed, if customers which to join us during private hours following the completion of food preparation, cooking and the paid session, we may at our discretion invite them to stay and they may choose to offer alcohol to those who wish to consume it and are of legal age. It is the responsibility of each person (and not Tan’s Cooking Club) to consume alcohol responsibly in the manner of law and ethics in society and ensure the legal age of those offered alcohol. By purchasing a cooking session or one of our services you agree with and are bound by these terms and conditions.
- Any participant in a cooking session or one of our services is welcome to send another person in their place as long as you inform us by calling or emailing us (as described below under the ‘Contact us’ heading) at least 1 business day prior to the session of that person’s name, allergies, dietary requirements and any other special requirements (for example, access needs), and that person has read and consented to these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy.
- Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to affect your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Bookings and cancellations for cooking sessions:
- If you need to cancel or reschedule a booking you must do this by emailing us at least 2 days before the date of your class for public cooking sessions at our property and you will be given a full refund for the cooking class. We are sorry that we will be unable to refund or reschedule a cooking class with less than 2 days’ notice. For our other services you will be informed of the refund, cancellation or rescheduling policy related to each service before and/or at the time of booking.
- For private group sessions – a set charge applies to all group bookings for a private event and you will be charged this amount even if the number of people you have falls. You will be advised of the set charge on the session before and/or at at the time of booking. Payment in full is required at the time of booking.
- For private group sessions – in the event that you cancel your booking in full, our refund policy is as follows: a) If you give us 7 days or more notice prior to the session date, we will refund 100% of your payment, b) If you give us 6 days notice prior to the session date, we will refund 50% of your payment, c) If you give us 5 days or less notice we are unable to offer any refunds. This may vary depending of the servoce so you will be informed of the refund, cancellation or rescheduling policy related to each service before and/or at the time of booking.
Terms and conditions for products purchased in conjunction with cooking classes
- At the time of your session or one of our services, you may purchase products at an additional cost..
- It is our responsibility to supply you with goods that meet your consumer rights. If you have any concerns that we have not met our legal obligations please contact us .
Food Allergy Policy
- Ingredients may contain or have been manufactured/prepared on shared equipment with wheat, dairy, eggs, nuts, fish, soya and shellfish and other allergens.
- You must inform us of any dietary requirements and allergies that you and any other participants have at the time of booking and confirm those when you arrive for your cooking class or one of our services. Where a person attends in replacement of another person, you must notify us in advance as per paragraph 15 of these terms and conditions.
- We will attempt to provide you with a work area that should not have the ingredients you are allergic to, however, when you attend a cooking session or one of our services, you are ultimately responsible for avoiding allergens and ensuring your guests avoid allergens especially when at a premises other than out property.
- You alone are responsible, and we accept no responsibility, for ensuring that allergy and dietary requirements are looked after for anyone who consumes any food you take home from a cookery class or one of our services.
- You alone are responsible to ensure any ingredients you purchase before an online cooking class or one of our services and the ingredients provided by Tan’s Cooking Club are suitable for your own health needs.
Terms and conditions for vouchers for cooking classes

- Vouchers for cooking sessions or one of our services should be available for purchase online from our website.
- The receipt and voucher should be delivered to the recipient by email within 24 hours of placing the order. If you do not receive that email within this time, please check your spam/junk mail folder and then contact us as described below under the ‘Contact us’ heading.
- The voucher will expire 12 months from the date of purchase. Please keep your receipt as proof of purchase in case of any queries. We cannot accept responsibility for lost or stolen voucher codes.
- The gift voucher is only valid for cooking sessions or one of our services with us,Tan’s Cooking Club (including e-products of applicable)
- The gift voucher may not be exchanged for cash.
- If the session and / or any products purchased total less than the value of the voucher amount, any balance will remain on the voucher and can be redeemed on our cooking sessions, or one of our services and/or associated products. We cannot provide change for partly redeemed vouchers in the form of currency or credit or debit cards.
- To redeem a voucher, enter the voucher code on our website within the required box at the checkout page.
- We are unable to provide refunds for vouchers purchased.
General terms about using our products and services
- When using our products and services (including our website and all the content on it which we own or licence), you agree that you will not:
- do anything illegal or infringe our own or other people’s rights. If you want to use any of our content and intellectual property (including our trademarks, logos, recipes or other content), you need our (or our Licensor’s) permission but we may not be able to grant you depending on the circumstances. Without such permission you may not record, photograph copy, reproduce, download, store (including on any other website), distribute, transmit, broadcast, commercially exploit or modify in any way any of our content, classes and intellectual property, or permit or assist anyone else to do the same. For example, you must not charge others for our goods or services and you must not record, photograph or reproduce our recipes or cooking sessions. Any recipes or other material we give to you is for your private domestic use only.
- reduce the use and enjoyment of our products and services by anyone else including (but not limited to) doing anything which is libellous (damages the reputation of someone), breaches anyone’s privacy, or which may harass, cause real distress or inconvenience to any person.
- impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your connection or affiliation with a person or entity, or otherwise solicit, collect or store (or attempt to solicit, collect or store) personal information about other users or our products and services.
- reformat or frame any portion of the web pages that are part of our Website.
- copy or modify the HTML code used to generate web pages on our Website.
- use any device, software, or procedure that disrupts, interferes or attempts to disrupt or interfere with our Website, the networks or servers we use.
- take any action that imposes, or may impose in our sole discretion, an unreasonable or disproportionately large load on our IT infrastructure on our Website.
- modify, adapt, translate or reverse engineer any portion of our Website.
- disclose to any third party any information identified as confidential, or which ought to be regarded as confidential, about the business of us and our affiliates.
Limitation on our Liability
- Except for any legal responsibility that we cannot exclude under law (such as for death or personal injury), we are not legally responsible for any losses that:
- were not foreseeable to you and us when these Terms were formed (which means any losses that neither you nor us could reasonably anticipate when the Terms were entered into); or
- that were not caused by any breach on our part
- business losses;
- Indirect and/or consequential losses; and
- losses to non-consumers of our products and services.
- No one other than you and us has any right to enforce any of these Terms.
Disputes
- If you have any complaints or issues please contact us as soon as possible. Your concerns are important to us and we will try to resolve any disputes with you quickly and efficiently.
Changes to these Terms and Conditions
- These Terms were last updated on 30 March 2026. We may vary these Terms from time to time without advance notice except we will obtain your consent prior to you obtaining our products and services where required by law.
- Our updated terms will be displayed on our website and you agree to be bound by the updated version.
